The Relay will recreate the original route of Rick's Man In
Motion World Tour, however, select communities outside of the Relay
route will be able to participate by becoming 25th Anniversary
Celebration Communities. These communities will create local events
and celebrations to recognize local heroes in the community who are
making a difference in the lives of others. The local
municipalities will select the individuals to recognize, and the
Rick Hansen Medal will be passed on to these difference makers as
part of its cross- Canada journey.
The 25th Anniversary Relay team hopes to visit to a range of
locations within your community offering an intimate,
participatory, educational and engaging experience of the Rick
Hansen story, the 25th Anniversary Relay and the inspiration that
stems from it. Our goal is to unite your community and to celebrate
and showcase your local Difference Makers.
At this time, Rick Hansen is tentatively scheduled to attend the
events at your Community Celebration Day. We will provide continual
updates in regards to confirmation of these plans

- Iqaluit, NU (September 26, 2011)
- Yellowknife, NT (January 23, 2012)
- Whitehorse, YT (March 11, 2012)
- Fort St. John, BC (March 21, 2012)
- Victoria, BC (May 1, 2012)
